Shorebird Stewards Wanted!

An invitation to sign up and participate in the Lee County Shorebird Stewardship program. Help protect our shorebirds! From Stephanie Wagley:

I hope everyone's weeks went well and you are all looking forward to a beautiful weekend! We are back out at Condo Beach and Little Estero CWA this weekend and would love to see you all there. There are currently no volunteers scheduled for Saturday or Friday and Sunday afternoon, so if you have the time and want to enjoy lots of sunshine and birds, please sign up and come join us!

Last weekend, we had nesting Least Terns, Snowy Plovers, and Wilson's Plovers with eggs in their nests and the Black Skimmers have been checking out the posted areas in large numbers, so the breeding season is heating up! I am very excited to see shifts filling up for May, but there are still plenty of available shifts for the upcoming month so be sure to check out the signup sheet (link here) and sign up for a shift (or two or three)! We would love to have you all out on the beach with us, educating the public and watching the birds during such an important time of year! Feel free to bring a friend or family member as long as they have completed the training!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask or email us. I look forward to seeing you all out on the beach soon!
