Hello Residents of Carlos Beach!

Beach cleanup will continue this week on Wednesday morning with tilling and raking as the skimmers continue to primarily use the shoreline in front of the posting and the tide pool area near the bridge.

The snowy plover chick continues to grow, it is nearly two weeks old now. It runs really fast as it chases down insects on the beach.

At last count, there were 522 adult skimmers, 74 flight-capable chicks, and 13 feathered chicks on the beach. The flight-capable chicks are learning to feed themselves by skimming the surface of the water.
