ASWF Awarded an Audubon Florida/ FPL “Plants for Birds” Grant

Our chapter was among the 12 chapters awarded a “Plants for Birds” at Audubon Florida’s Assembly, held in Brandon, October 26-28, 2023. The grants are intended to provide habitat for birds and people.

The $2,500 award will help fund the creation of pollinator garden at the Lovers Key State Park’s Welcome and Discovery Center, featuring plant identification plaques, a

bird bath, and a full irrigation system. The garden will serve as a living classroom for LKSP classes, ASWF field trips, and thousands of park visitors each year.

Partners in the project are Lovers Key State Park, Friends of Lovers Key, and Natives of Corkscrew.
